The Long Hall has been licensed since 1766, with its ornate mahogany, mirrors and other Victorian features largely dating from an 1881 renovation. Its preserved South Great George's Street interior is a defining example of Dublin's Victorian pub tradition.

Mulligan's has been licensed since 1782 and has long been tied to Dublin's newspaper, theatre and literary life. The Poolbeg Street pub retains a deliberately traditional interior and a strong connection to generations of Dublin regulars.

Kehoe's was first licensed in 1803 and its preserved interior comes from a late-19th-century Victorian renovation. Original grocery drawers, the front snug, serving hatch and dark mahogany still show the building's pub-and-grocery past.

Built in 1823, The Palace Bar is one of Dublin's original Victorian pubs and still preserves that historic character on Fleet Street. In the 1940s and 1950s it became a noted meeting place for journalists, writers and Dublin's literary scene.

Grogan's dates to 1899 and became a noted home for Dublin writers and artists from the 1970s onward. It deliberately has no television or music, keeping the focus on conversation and the art displayed around the bar.
